Our collection is carefully chosen to offer a well-rounded selection of paintings, drawings, photographs, original prints, sculptures, and features fine examples of Inuit art.
About Us
Founded in 1965, the Art Rental + Sales Gallery provides a service that reflects the AGO’s mission to bring art and people together and boldly declare that art matters.
The gallery’s mandate is to promote the work of emerging and established contemporary Canadian artists. Our gallery has featured many artists who are now internationally well-known, including Barbara Astman, Edward Burtynsky, Jack Bush, Sorel Etrog, David Milne, Kazuo Nakamura, Jean Paul Riopelle, Michael Snow and others.
Our volunteers choose the art available for rent or purchase, coordinate exhibitions and provide individual and corporate clients with expert assistance in the selection of works for their home or business. Artworks are available for rent to AGO members, but they are for sale to everyone.
All proceeds from the Art Rental + Sales Gallery enable the AGO to offer compelling educational programs and continue to build its world-class collection.

Low Rental Fees and Easy Purchase Terms
Rent a work of art for as little as $20 per month. This option allows you to have the artwork for a trial period before you decide to buy it. Up to three months’ rent can be applied against the purchase price. You can pay for an artwork in full or by installment through a no-interest payment plan.
Delivery
Delivery and installation services can be arranged with professional art handlers at a reasonable cost.
Exhibitions
The Art Rental + Sales Gallery features a number of exhibitions throughout the year. Clients are welcome to attend opening receptions, meet the artists and be the first to preview new works of art. Many of the works are available for rent or purchase before the exhibition closes.

The Art Rental + Sales Gallery is located two blocks east of the AGO at 481 University Avenue, on the northeast corner of Dundas Street and University Avenue, just steps from the St. Patrick subway station.
